Overview

MyNextListen ("we", "our", "us") operates the website at mynextlisten.com and the MyNextListen Chrome extension. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Email address (used for login and notifications)
  • Password (hashed, never stored in plain text)

Audible Library Data

When you connect your Audible account, we sync and store your audiobook library metadata:

  • Book titles, authors, narrators, and series information
  • Cover images (linked from Amazon CDN, not stored by us)
  • Runtime, ratings, release dates, and purchase dates
  • ASINs (Audible Standard Identification Numbers)

Audible Authentication

To access your Audible library data via the Audible API, we store OAuth tokens (access token, refresh token, and device key) issued by Amazon. These tokens are encrypted at rest using Fernet symmetric encryption.

We never have access to your Amazon username or password. Authentication happens entirely on Amazon's login page through their OAuth flow. Your Amazon credentials are never transmitted to or processed by our servers.

Chrome Extension

The MyNextListen Chrome extension:

  • Stores only a session token (JWT) issued by our server in browser local storage
  • Executes pre-signed API requests to fetch your library data
  • Does not access, capture, or transmit Amazon/Audible login credentials
  • Does not read cookies, form fields, or keystrokes on any page
  • Does not inject into or interact with the Amazon login page

Notification Preferences

If you enable notifications, we store your notification preferences (email, SMS, desktop) and contact information you provide for those channels.

Support Requests

If you contact us through the support form, we receive your name, email, and message content.

How We Use Your Information

  • Syncing and displaying your Audible library
  • Tracking book series and detecting new releases
  • Sending notifications about new books in your series
  • Authenticating your account and maintaining your session
  • Responding to support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Storage & Security

  • Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase with encryption at rest
  • The application runs on Google Cloud Run with HTTPS encryption in transit
  • Audible OAuth tokens are encrypted using Fernet symmetric encryption before storage
  • Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms (never stored in plain text)
  • All communication between the Chrome extension and our servers uses HTTPS

Third-Party Services

We interact with the following third-party services:

  • Amazon/Audible — OAuth authentication and library data retrieval via the Audible API
  • Supabase — Database hosting
  • Google Cloud — Application hosting (Cloud Run)

Each of these services has their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them if you have concerns about how they handle data.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at support@tekyz.com.

Upon account deletion, we will remove:

  • Your account and login credentials
  • Your Audible library data
  • Your stored Audible OAuth tokens
  • Your notification preferences and contact information

Cookies

We use essential cookies only for maintaining your login session. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party advertising cookies.

Children's Privacy

MyNextListen is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
